User Reviews about Samsung LN46C750 46-Inch 1080p 3D LCD HDTV (Black)

This is the best TV I've ever owned, it's perfect in almost every way. I don't think TVs can get much better than this. The only problem is that 2 days after I bought it, the screen went black and wouldn't come back on. Luckily, Samsung sent a repairman to fix it for free, but it took about 3 weeks from the first phone call until it was fixed, which was a major annoyance. Also, a few days after I ordered it online, I noticed that Sears reduced their price to match Amazon's. My advice is to buy it from a local retailer if you can get it for the same price, because if it breaks you can just take it back and get a new one. Also, if you get the 3D glasses, KEEP THEM AWAY FROM WATER. I accidentally had one of my pairs of glasses sitting in a shallow puddle of water for a few days (long story), and it completely ruined it (but I got a refund from Amazon for that, which was nice). -- Broke After 2 Days, But Now Fixed.
I brought a LN46C670 which is a exclusive model to Bestbuy. I soon discovered I could buy this 3D enabled one from Amazon for just 100.00 more. So I took that one back and ordered this one Asap. I have not been disappointed one bit with my purchase. I like how I reqistered the TV and Samsung gave me 3 additional months of warranty. A company only do stuff like that if they're sure of the quality and build of their product. 3D is nice on this set and contrast ratio is extremely good for the aging LCD technology. Sony will be patching PS3 to support 3D bluray on September 21 I read. If you want to get into 3D now at a good price then this TV is it. Warning there's some rumbling about 3DTV coming that don't require glasses. I think the price won't be too friendly so I'm happy with this for now. I have one small complaint Amazon ship this TV to me using a shipping company Ceva. Now Amazon service is fine but Ceva sucks. For 1 or 2 days no one new where the TV was and I had to have Amazon follow up. Be warned of Ceva shipping company. -- Samsung still King
I was looking to buy a 46 inch TV and read some reviews online and went to a few local stores to check the TV's out, all the TVs look the same in the store. I went to best buy to check this TV out but couldn't find it in store as it was only available online on their website. I decided to go with the TV as it was around the same price range as other 46inch TVs without the 3d addon to them (aaround $1000+) so i decided paying an extra $300 for 3d is not bad. I got the TV and fell in love with it after tweaking with the settings a little bit. This is a 120Hz TV so it had a soap opera effect to movies and HD channels initially, I changed the "Auto Motion Plus" option to clear/Off and then that effect faded out, but I turn it on to standard setting only to view sports channels. I know its a pain sometimes to change the settings everytime but i felt the TV overall with small issues is amazing. The TV's sound is not bad at all. I still would suggest getting a surround sound system to connect the TV. I also played some Blue Ray discs from my PS3 and had the best viewing experience. I would reccomend this TV 9/10 times. The only issue is that the 2d to 3d conversion is not effective. But still love my TV -- Amazing TV for the price!!!!
Finally bought this set after I returned a pn50c8000. It has really nice blacks and great pop when sitting in the sweet spot. I got an sq01 with no dead pixels. One very very minor flashlight in one corner, zero clouding. Excellent uniformity. Apps are a mixed bag. Some are hard to setup until you trawl the forums. Real 3d on bluray is awesome. Direct version has noticeable ghosting and not as fun. The backlight on this set is extremely bright. I set mine on 6. As for gaming I don't really find the lag a bother. Gaming mode helps. Then again I'm not a hardcore competitive game.

I bought this set not so much for 3d but for its virtues. First its lcd which means I don't have to worry about image retention or be annoyed by dithering artifacts. 3d is better on plasma but its not my main criteria for choosing a set. Second its not edge lit which is known, at least in the Samsung models, for poor viewing angle and poor uniformity. Third I stayed with the Samsung for its 10 pt gray scale and cms system. Last, I chose this set hoping that even if there is a panel lottery for this set they would allot a higher grade panel being it is the top model in the ccfl range. The 750 has only one part number for a replacement panel while all models below have multiple part numbers for replacement panels.

I am very happy with this set. A great step up from my ln40a750. -- very happy
Even without 3D this is an excellent buy. The picture is crisp and clear. The black level is excellent. Sports programming is clear with the 240 hz refresh. Add to it the wow factor of 3d and you have a fantastic package. I love bring in friends and having them try the 3D part. They look sooo funny dodging branches or birds on the 3D programming. -- Wow... just wow

User Reviews about Samsung UN55C7000 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV (Black)

I spent a lot of time reading on-line reviews of this TV and its little brother the 46 inch model before going to a store. I was mostly interested in the downloadable apps and the picture quality. 3D wasn't a primary concern.
I was very concerned as to how glare would affect the picture as I have a south-facing wall of glass behind the viewer that is a real issue in the winter when the sun is low and we are watching football. I had a second generation plasma that was 8 years old and the glare could be enough to force us to TIVO the games and watch them at night.

Well, we bought the 55 inch model and wow, what a picture. It is significantly better than the plasma that we had before. Individual blades of grass stand out perfectly. When the screen is black, the set is a mirror and the glare is significant, but once a non-black picture comes on, the set is capable of reducing the glare to only a very minor issue. This was really beyond what we had hoped for.

We were pleased to find out that the set automatically detected DVDs in our SONY player and switched to the DVD source when one starts to play. My wife is more than a bit technophobic, so less remote fiddling is good.

The apps/widgets are very nice. You get both the Samsung apps and Yahoo apps, so there is quite a variety.

But, and I do mean a big BUT, these are not the coolest thing on the set. Samsung has included a full implementation of DLNA, I think for the first time this year. What is DLNA and what does it matter? It is a fancy set of intials (Digital Living Network Alliance, if it matters) that are a standard for devices accesing data on other computers.
In my house I have a network device that I store videos and music on for the house. I had a dedicated Media Center computer next to my TV to play movies from this and the TV was essentially a display for the computer. Now, the TV gets the files all by itself and the computer is no longer necessary. Essentially, the TV can show a movie on another computer by itself.
Other sets have been able to have PCs play the movie on them using an early version of DLNA, but now you can use your remote to play movies without messing with the computer. This may sound techy, but it is really nice and my wife loves it. Home movies and stored DVDs can be pulled up with just a couple clicks of the remote.

The DLNA was easy to set up. You can download and run a program from Samsung on a Windows machine or run any other DLNA server program on your mac, LINUX or whatever computer. Then you go to the TV and it automatically finds the computer(s) and shows the files. I have a Netgear NAS and it had its own DLNA program that worked first try.

All in all, this is as good of a TV as I could have hoped for. -- Great TV, really great feature nobody mentions!
big cloud issue when play dark movies.
Internet is kinda useless. The Blu-ray player can do this work as well.
The corners have some light leaking issues
-- Should be cheaper for the quality of the TV
ok so this tv is the best tv ive ever seen in my life..... im sure that a hardcore tv nut might have something different to say but so far i can find no fault with the tv i gave it 3 stars for sound because i havent used the sound as i have surround sound i bought this tv "Used" from amazon and it was brand new when i got it it still have the plastic sticky stuff on the edges and it looked absolutly pristine i wont need another tv for years to come thank you samsung -- Epic TV
I like the Samsung in general. The sound quality is not great - no room for room-facing speakers. I haven't used all the features yet (like the 3d), just got it installed - which was not easy. The screen really should NOT be touched. Even your fingertip will leave a mark and the cleaner sold at Frye's in Auburn, WA was $20.00. Samsung recommends water only, but I have a friend who damaged a flat screen trying to clean it, so be careful. I can't get the remote working well, sometimes the TV comes on and not the cable and vice versa. There must be a fix for that, but I don't know about it yet. We have some tiling in the picture every time we watch. We are shopping for a sound bar. This was our first big purchase through Amazon and the process and service was flawless. I would recommend Amazon to anyone and not just for books. We will be buying a sound bar from Amazon. Love them. -- It's a good TV, sound not so - Amazon was WONDERFUL!

User Reviews about Samsung PN50C490 50-Inch 720p Plasma 3D HDTV

We upgraded from a 48" rear-projection TV that was about 8 yrs old to this plasma model. We checked reviews elsewhere on this model, and figured we'd give it a try. The price difference between this model with 3D and a similar model without the 3D was about $200, and we wondered if the feature would be worth it. We purchased from a big-box store with a good return policy so we could try it out. Our only concerns were that the 3D capability might be a bit gimicky and the novelty would wear off; and that this model is only 720p; not 1080 like most newer models. Well, we really had nothing to worry about with this TV. There is no ghosting while watching action onscreen, like some LED/LCD models we'd looked at. The difference in definition is really not noticeable - the difference between 720 and 1080 is barely noticeable with the human eye, anyway. We watched several shows in the first few days with the mock 3D feature (a selection on the remote allows the TV to change a regular 2D show into 3D). The only issue we had was a bit of eyestrain from wearing the glasses for an hour or two. I have a heavy vision correction; this could be a factor. Another issue is that we still need to purchase more glasses for the rest of the family - the kids faces are a bit small for the adult sized glasses. They're also expensive and easily damaged. Another factor (if you're looking at cost) is that to use the 3D capability for movies, a 3D bluray player should be purchased, which is a bit more costly than a regular bluray. There are only a few 3D movies available. 3D shows on our cable company aren't available yet. We're considering switching to DirectTV, which has some 3D content already. We really like the 3D feature on this TV - the novelty hasn't worn off yet and we've been using it over a month. It really makes the whole TV watching experience more captivating. The sound quality is great - which was a bonus for us. We had a problem with glare on our other TV, since it sits in a room with a wall of windows. This TV has a bit of glare, but not as much as we'd expected. The ability to swivel on the stand is a huge help in preventing the glare while watching in some parts of the room. All in all, this is a really good TV at a great price - and the 3D feature just puts it over the top. -- Fabulous 3D - Great Price!
Was really excited when this tecnology started to hit the stores, went to see it live and was hooked right off the bat, got it home setup was easy good manual and our local cable service has 6 or 7 3d movies ready to watch and presto what a sight, out of the screen effects were great make sure while watching you select picture adjust it auto sets the 3d so you get optimal depth and clarity. tried 2d to 3d on regular hd channels and was pleasently surprised. and lets not forget about the normal 2d this tv has one of the best pictures i have seen, any angle looks right on and the white levels are great for a plasma. i know its 720p but you can still set all your gaming and dvd settings up to 1080p its still works. -- AWESOME BUY DON'T HESITATE
Been in the market for a new Master Bedroom HDTV since our 30" HD CRT broke (yay!). Been following this model (PN50C490) since it was announced recently. I found a great deal at a local B&M store the week this was released (2 free pair of 3D glasses included) for the same price as elsewhere. I've been watching this plasma for over a week, and just love it!

We feed it HD service from DirecTV and it looks stunning. Realistic colors and very dark blacks, no ghosting on sports (it is a plasma after all), and we love the upgrade in the size (30" to 50") as viewed from 12-15 feet away in bed. The 2D picture quality beats the old CRT and even our main DLP set in the family room. DirecTV has a few 3D channels, so those were demoed immediately. The X-Games replay looked awesome. I think most sports are recorded in 720p anyway, so there was no loss of quality on this 720p set. I was able to watch the football games this weekend in a pseudo 3D upscale (I'm calling it 2.5D). It certainly did something to the picture, and I liked it. It really added some depth that made the game more enjoyable to watch. Not quite as good as a proper 3D broadcast or actually being there in person, but given the little bit of 3D programming available, the 2.5D conversion was pretty impressive and worked on demand.

No eye strain noticed when wearing the glasses as I was able to watch 3 hours of football without issue. Waiting for the PS3 firmware update to try some 3D Blu-rays on this set, but I don't think that there will be any issues in the 720p versus 1080p resolutions. I'll try to post an update on PS3 3D gaming impressions as well (which Sony limits to 720p anyway). Overall, I am VERY impressed with the 2D quality of this set. Love the size improvement for our master bedroom given our viewing distances. And both 2.5D and 3D viewing was great at 720p. From what I have seen, there is nothing to worry about this set not being 1080p. Just pull the trigger, buy it, and enjoy the money you'll be saving over the competition. -- Great 2D, 2.5D, and 3D performance for a nice price...
